“ODUPA’S website is definitely a dream come true” commented Rosaura Mendez ODUPA’s Tresaurer who had the initiative of this project.

Hugo Viglietti, member of the Uruguay’s University League, said that this venture has two key points, the first is the beginning and the second is its continuity. “The last one is a challenge that has to be supported with all Panamerican comunity input” said Viglietti.

Guno Rudge, Executive Secretary of ODUCC extended his congratulations to the website creators. “This will help the growth of university sports on our continent” finished Monserrat Jimenez, Executive Secretary of COSUD.

Message from George E. Killian, FISU President

It is a real pleasure for me to address you in the first issue of the ODUPA Magazine and website. This publication will be an important tool to link the University sports communities of America and to inform about the events and goals of ODUPA and FISU. As an American, I am in a better position to understand the challenges of our continent and the value of such publication.

I am sure that you will find in this Magazine the information you are looking for. I am convinced that it will become an important tool to expand and promote the activities of each member Federations, ODUPA and FISU through out the continent.

Thanks to the leadership of Mr. Julio Jakob and to the ODUPA membership, the activities of the university sport community in the Continent are quickly growing in an increasing number of countries and universities. I am thanking you for your involvement and impressed by the variety of initiatives developed in such a short period of time since ODUPA was created in 2007.

I wish you all a prosperous future.
